National gathering about working internationally

As ASSITEJ Belgium, our wish is to create a platform for exchange and knowledge sharing among our members. As many members have questions about working internationally, we will devote our next national gathering to the topic of international touring. The gathering will take place on 11 November 2016, during the EXPORT/IMPORT festival of BRONKS (Brussels).

What are the possibilities, challenges and difficulties of touring internationally? Which tips and tricks can you learn from your colleagues? We will also explore touring possibilities in France and Germany.

As usual, we will kick off the day with 10 companies who will get the chance to present their work to their colleagues in a 5-minute pitch. The pitching session will be followed by a keynote of Airan Berg (former artistic director of Schauspielhaus Wien and of the performing arts at Linz 2009 European Capital of Culture), who will talk about the importance of working internationally.

The keynote will be followed by 6 worktables, in which you can listen to the experiences of Belgian companies who are touring a lot internationally (Zonzo Cie, Cie de la Casquette, kabinet k, Agora Theater, Tof Théâtre, Studio Orka). We can learn a lot from … each other!

In the afternoon, Sandrine Weishaar (ONDA) will give an overview of the field, festivals and important venues in France (IN FRENCH!) and Stefan Fischer-Fels (Junges Schauspiel – Düsseldorfer Schauspielhaus) will do the same for Germany.

We will finish with a drink and after that, you can see the shows that are part of the festival programme.

About the EXPORT/IMPORT festival

With dozens of performances, workshops and other activities, the international EXPORT/IMPORT festival by BRONKS (Brussels) provides an annual recap of everything that BRONKS stands for. The festival brings international productions ready for international touring. EXPORT/IMPORT is a festival aimed at an international audience. All of the productions either present no problem in terms of language or are ‘surtitled’.
